Dr. Sherry Cormier is a licensed psychologist and a professor emerita in the Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling, and Counseling Psychology at West Virginia University. She is a certified bereavement trauma specialist, the author of two textbooks, and the producer of over 100 training videos for Cengage Learning. Her new book, Sweet Sorrow: Finding Enduring Wholeness After Loss and Grief was written by her in the decade following the loss of her husband, father, mother, dog, and only sibling.

Monica Meade is currently working in private practice as a clinical therapist with Whole Balance Health, specializing in Grief, and Trauma therapy utilizing EMDR (Eye Movement, Desensitization, and Reprocessing), in Colorado Springs, CO. Monica’s pursuit of becoming a grief counselor was born out of necessity. After the death of two immediate family members, she struggled to find hope for herself in the healing process. She has made it her goal to reach out to others during their grief journey to bring love and light to the healing process.
In this episode we talk about EMDR, the death of her daughter and niece, forgiveness, and grief dreams of her daughter and niece.

Devan Christian is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia’s Fraser Valley. After experiencing many deaths in her own life, she pursued a career path in which she could support those who were experiencing their own grief and loss. Five year ago, she started working in the Hospice Child & Youth and Adult Bereavement Programs; now, she supports those in her surrounding communities with their grief, mental well-being, caregiver stress and life transitions through her private practice in Chilliwack, BC, as well as through her local Community Mental Health Centre.
In this episode we talk about her many losses, continuing bonds, starting her private practice, tips for grieving over the holidays, and her own grief dreams.

Dallas Shirley is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and BC Registered Play Therapist who provides Child, Youth, and Family Counselling for non-profit organizations and through her online private practice. She has worked at Chilliwack Hospice Society, Abbotsford Hospice Society, and Kamloops Hospice Association, and was a Grief Specialist for the Abbotsford School District. She also volunteered for 10 years at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Dallas is also the author of a book series called Woodland Wisdom Books, which are guides for parents, caregivers, educators, counsellors, and other adults who help to support children dealing with difficult issues. In this episode, we talk about her journey into helping bereaved children, children’s grief and their grief dreams, her grief journey, and a dream she wants to have.

Diane is a Family Support Coordinator for DonateLife Queensland in Australia. She is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker with almost forty years of experience in counselling, employee relations practitioner, consultant, and mediator operating within the public and private sectors including as a guest specialist lecturer at Australian Catholic University. Diane has provided bereavement counselling for families of DonateLife over seventeen years and has extensive knowledge of the issues relevant to families on the grief journey. She works from a strengths-based and values-aware position in her counselling and coordination role. Jeannette Thompson works as a spiritual grief counselor and a workshop facilitator. Her life forcefully changed direction after the death of her son. During the next few years her search for answers turned into furthering her education. She trained as a Grief Counsellor at Mohawk College, and trained as a volunteer Crisis worker for the Sexual Assault Centre and the Distress Centre. She then became certified as a Spiritual Psychotherapist and Spiritual Director through the Transformational Arts College of Spiritual and Holistic Training.
