Haley Harris-Bloom works as a nurse in the emergency department. She enjoys the privilege of helping treat people during their most vulnerable times. After a series of close family and friends died Haley has devoted her time outside of work to researching grief. She realized a gap in grief resources for the bereaved during this process and is currently creating GriefGuide, the first interactive-self counseling app to help people navigate grief.

Episode 90 - Sandra Roman

Sandra Roman is a Mother of 5 children, 1 of which is now an angel in heaven. Sandra has recently started a blog page called “Good Grief Relief” after losing her son Matthew, in 2016. In her blog she is offering support to other bereaved parents on their grief journey with child loss. She is currently working on her first book that details the tragic story of the loss of her son, Matthew and the renewed hope that she has discovered on her journey. Sandra has been involved in multiple women’s ministries in both USA and Mexico. Additionally, she is a member of International Cruise Victims, Inc. (a non-profit) in hopes of being a strong voice for awareness and lobbying congress for change.

 

In this episode we talk about the death of her son, rebuilding her faith, grief dreams about her son from her child and friend, her own grief dreams, and the international cruise victims organization.

Episode 86 - Dr. Sameet Kumar

Dr. Sameet Kumar is a clinical psychologist who has worked with adults who have cancer as well as their caregivers and families for nearly 20 years. He specializes in palliative, end-of-life and bereavement care. His professional interests also include meditation, spiritual coping, resilience and well-being. He is the author of the bestselling Grieving Mindfully: A Compassionate and Spiritual Approach to Coping with Loss, The Mindful Path Through Worry and Ruminationand the workbook Mindfulness for Prolonged Grief. In this episode we talk about working with the dying and the bereaved, mindfulness, the death of his mother, and grief dreams of her.

Orley Culverhouse is an accredited music therapist (MTA) and children's program coordinator working in a hospice setting. Her work includes supporting children/youth and their families facing a terminal illness or death of a loved one, as well residents of hospice and their families. After the sudden death of her mom, Sheaya re-routed her entire path and quit her job as a Human Resource professional after having a grief dream where her mom showed up. Episode 76 - Serena Dyer

Serena Dyer has co-authored a book with her father, Dr. Wayne Dyer, titled Don’t Die With Your Music Still In You, and she is a contributor to Huffington Post, Mind Body Green, and Positively Positive. She regularly appeared on stage with her father at Hay House events and is a featured speaker at spiritual, motivational and wellness events around the United States. Her subject matter covers a wide range of topics, but she always seeks to share her personal spiritual perspective in a way that encourages introspection and personal growth. It was only 9 months ago that her stepson (Mason) died and put her on a path of self-discovery. Episode 74 - Sebastian Slovin

Sebastian Slovin grew up in the beach community of La Jolla, California, and spent much of his childhood in and around the ocean. As a young adult, he had the opportunity to travel extensively and experience many of the world’s great surf spots as a professional bodyboarder. He is the author of The Adventures of Enu and Ashes in the Ocean. Sebastian is also co-founder of Nature Unplugged, which focuses on cultivating healthy relationships with technology and reconnecting to nature. In this episode we talk about bodyboarding, the death of his father by suicide, his grief journey, dreams of his father, and a dream he wants to have of him.
