Dr. Beth Allen (AKA Bif Naked) is a prominent alternative artist, performer and songwriter. Throughout her remarkable career, Beth embarked on seemingly endless international tours, several feature films and multiple television roles, only to be struck down with breast cancer at the age of 37. She would discover her passion for advocacy, as a triumphant survivor and someone who helps others first. She wrote her biography in 2016 called “I, Bificus”.
In this episode we talk about her music career, breast cancer journey, palliative care volunteering, and death of her father, friend, and dogs.

Sebastian Slovin grew up in the beach community of La Jolla, California, and spent much of his childhood in and around the ocean. As a young adult, he had the opportunity to travel extensively and experience many of the world’s great surf spots as a professional bodyboarder. He is the author of The Adventures of Enu and Ashes in the Ocean. Sebastian is also co-founder of Nature Unplugged, which focuses on cultivating healthy relationships with technology and reconnecting to nature. In this episode we talk about bodyboarding, the death of his father by suicide, his grief journey, dreams of his father, and a dream he wants to have of him.

Dallas Shirley is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and BC Registered Play Therapist who provides Child, Youth, and Family Counselling for non-profit organizations and through her online private practice. She has worked at Chilliwack Hospice Society, Abbotsford Hospice Society, and Kamloops Hospice Association, and was a Grief Specialist for the Abbotsford School District. She also volunteered for 10 years at Canuck Place Children’s Hospice. Dallas is also the author of a book series called Woodland Wisdom Books, which are guides for parents, caregivers, educators, counsellors, and other adults who help to support children dealing with difficult issues. In this episode, we talk about her journey into helping bereaved children, children’s grief and their grief dreams, her grief journey, and a dream she wants to have.
